We Made It!

And with that, the Alaris Kickstarter has come to an end, and we are 154% funded!!  Thank you to everyone who backed and spread the word for the campaign. Whether it was to back, adjust your pledge, share the campaign, create fanart, etc., I can’t emphasize enough how much I appreciate it all <3

This was an incredibly rewarding experience, and I'm blown away by the amount of support and interest you all have in the game. During the campaign, we unlocked all six milestone goals, funded the game and an original OST, and have ended with over 380 backers. We also made over 50% progress on the LI VA stretch goal in the last couple of hours of the campaign! This means we can not only move on to begin full-time production on the full game, but we can also get a custom soundtrack :D

Now that the campaign is over, you all may be wondering what's next?

Well, first, I'll be taking basically my first actual break on Alaris that I've had all year, haha! It won't be long -- only a week. But given I've had a couple of back-to-back intensive months from school, to personal stuff, then the demo release and the Kickstarter, I've been due for a break for a while. Once that's finished, I'll be easing back into game development, while also searching for my team <3

When I'm back from my break, I'll be working on applications for the writer/editor and BG artist since work for those positions will be starting right away. I'll also be working with Peter Reid Jones to begin work on the soundtrack for Alaris. I'm hoping to tap into Studio Ghibli vibes as I've always loved the dreamy sound of their fantasy-romance movies, so I hope you all are looking forward to snippets of that!

Lastly, I know we didn't meet the funding goal for the LI VA stretch goal, but because so many people have expressed interest in it, and given that we made more than 50% progress towards the goal, it's one that I'm going to commit to for the game! Some of you have already asked about potential other ways to financially support the game's development in the future, so I will be working on a Patreon release as well. I do not have an estimated date for when the Patreon will drop (I still have to recover from the Kickstarter campaign as well lol), but that is something that's on the horizon! Because the full game is estimated to be released a year from now, I believe that's enough time to raise enough funds for LI VA, and because it's something the fans (and I) want, I think there's a way to make it happen <3

That's all my updates for now. I'll be releasing the KS-Exclusive Backer updates at the end of each month, starting October! Until then, thank you all again for the support -- until next time!
