Devlog #10 | 12.2.21


Hi everyone! 

We’ve officially hit double digits on devlogs, which is kinda weird since it feels like we should’ve hit double digits a long time ago lol, but here we are! We’ll be updating on progress for the Winter DLC currently under development. Feel free to check out the official game page for it here!

So development is going quite smoothly I would say. It’s been a bit difficult balancing this project and my other responsibilities, but I’m still pretty happy with how everything is going! I’m mainly stressed about CGs, but I’ll touch on that later.

Regarding progress, this is where we are currently at:

  • Script: 95% Complete
  • Art: 45% Complete
  • Code: 35% Complete

As you can see, the script is basically finished. It’s in its final stage of writing and just needs final edits. I’ll also be adding in different choices here and there for dialogue! There are a couple things I should note for this DLC that will be different compared to the main game:

1. There will not be a personality feature

2. There will not be a Codex feature

The only things that will be customizable are the name and pronouns used by MC. Other than that, there won’t be much further customization in the sense that it manifests in the main game. BUT with that being said, I hope to include many choices that still help people feel like they can create a more personal experience! There won’t be a personality or codex feature since I don’t really see the point in it for just side stories. 

The best way to think about this is it’s a set of winter-themed dates you can go on with all six LIs. You won’t have access to Kuna’a and Aisa in the main game for a while (although you will interact with them), so this DLC might be really attractive for people who have been interested in those two characters! Also, it’s just extra, fun content so anyone who just wants a casual festive experience, this will hopefully give that to you :)

Going back to updates, I’m currently working on art and coding. I’ve coded the entire script in and just need to make small edits for effects. I successfully coded in snowfall and it looks really cute I think! I’ll post a GIF sometime later so you all can see what it looks like~ I’ve started working on recoloring the GUI to make it more winter themed:


As you can see, it looks cooler. I wouldn’t have really touched this to be honest, but when I created the title screen, it looks very weird to have such a cool-toned main menu and everything else is so warm with the yellow. Hopefully, this makes it look more cohesive. It’s a small change, but I think effective! 

Aside from recoloring GUI, I will also start the CGs for the LIs tomorrow. I really want to have one CG for each LI. I’ll have a better idea how feasible this is once I start tomorrow, but I can be stubborn so unless it feels impossible, this will most likely be in the game lol. 

Aside from that, feel free to see more sneak peeks of the game. These are WIP because I need to change things like GUI and stuff, but this is where the game is currently at :D
