Devlog #2.5 | GUI Update (8.15.21)


Hi everyone! Here with another check-in as we get closer to the due date for SuNoFes (*shudders*).  This devlog is a 2.5 because it's not quite as detailed as I usually like to make my devlogs but it's a small update to show a little something as we get closer to the drop date for the Chapter 1 sample. I’ve been doing a lot of artwork for the game to help it look as polished as possible when I upload chapter 1. The script is in its final draft - I’ll be looking over it again closer to the drop date just to make sure there are as little typos as possible (I want to say 0 but I know that is probably unrealistic heh). 

I’ve mainly been working on GUI updates and CG art. Sprites are all finished except for two side characters!! So exciting~ Here’s a sneak peek at what I’ve done for the GUI so far:

I’m pretty happy with where it’s at all things considering. As I’ve said before, once I get the funds to formally commission someone for the GUI, I definitely will for the final product. But I think in the mean time, it doesn’t look too shabby right? For this version 1 drop, the GUI isn’t going to be completely finished, which is why I’ve said it’ll look scuffed lolz. Some parts like probably the quick menu, preferences, navigation, etc. will be the default depending on if I’m able to get to it in time or not. I’m putting the most priority on CG art and sprite art since that’s what is most important to me as I can always change the GUI later and it’s not one of the biggest pieces of gameplay. 

Anyways, I’ve been doing lots of work!! This is just a sneak peek of what I’ve done so far. I’ll be releasing more glimpses into the project as we get closer to the release of Chapter 1′s sample :D Let me know what you all think - I’m definitely starting to get nervous eheh <3
