This was such a wonderfully romantic game! What a fun take on the concept of soul mates. Finding the one you are meant to be with for several lifetimes, it was well written. I was a little confused at first when the first chapter ended and the second began in a different setting. Then, I realized the story is told throughout different lifetimes. How interesting! Such a fun game!

Hey there!! I was just wondering, maybe it's because I'm trying to play from Linux Mint, but it seems like i can only play until the meteor shower part and after that the game just restarts. Is that supposed to happen? or am I doing something wrong?
hi! that is supposed to happen but the game isn’t finished yet (you will know it’s finished because a “fin.” screen will show up!). when you return to the main menu, you should see an animation that hints to a new interactive feature. i would suggest clicking it and seeing where the story takes you from there! <3

hi! i might consider making a web version of the game since a couple people have been sad they aren't able to play intertwine in its current build. i dont' want to promise anything right now, mainly because i do have other priorities outside of intertwine (and this was initially meant to be a "one and done" kinda deal due to otojam) but i can look into it!
the web version build may not be optimized the same way the downloadable version is, but it would at least be a way to play the game in some form if thats okay <3
hello again! i made a web version of the game last night and just uploaded it to the game page. again, quality of life might be a little lower compared to the downloadable version (e.g., lagging, etc.), but it should be playable at the very least. happy playing! <3

art is so freaking pretty, the GUI is really pretty and very well thought out; the text system is to die for, sfx are beautifully combined with clever code bits and images popping up, and the story is just so incredibly sweet.
the writing is (as always tbh) really solid and consistent. i love tropes done well and this was exactly that :) And Max's voice is to die for. what a fantastic casting for Van!!

ahhh this is so beautiful!! van is such a sweetheart, the voice actor and (obviously) writers did such a great job making him! i LOVE soulmates so much, and i love how this game actually explores it! so many games are just "ooh look this guy is your soulmate :)" and leave it at that, but this has us go through different lifetimes, and i'm so glad. the synesthesia aspect is so smart, i could've never thought of that in a million years! and its such a sweet sentiment, i mean a lingering hand in yours? beautiful!! and GOD the music is so beautiful, orpheo and kija do it yet again! thank you to everyone on the team for making this lovely game <3

I don't usually post comments on here but I really liked this game so i thought I could give it a shot-. It was absolutely what I needed to play today haha I got invested in it quickly, the artstyle for the sprites was absolutely beautiful and the writing was immaculate as well. This game feels like sitting down in your beloved armchair after a long day and finally drinking your favourite tea- really comforting I mean lol. The only regret I have is that it's not longer! Loved Van's character and enjoyed his and MC's banter in that 'enemies to lovers' trope (can't deny that it's my favourite). Anyways great job on this one! It'll stay on my mind for a while for sure-

Everyone who worked on this did a great job. Loved the OST, loved the art, loved the dialogue between MC/Van. The storytelling mechanic was unique and engaging too -- making the menu interaction a part of continuing the story is *chefs kiss*. Banger all around

THIS WAS BEAUTIFUL. I adore Alaris, and the moment I saw the devlog, I was literally ecstatic . I loved the detailing of the red string of fate bringing the MC and Van through the next few lives, and how we get to see mentioning of themselves later. The music, CGIs, voice acting, and the AESTHETIC, oh my gosh. The entire game had me kicking my feet and grinning. The way that the lives flowed into one another, and the little quotes and proverbs between them were gorgeous. Like, seriously, the timelessness and mild sorrow was just *chefs kiss* perfect. I've always had it down bad for the soulmate trope and loved the idea of the red strings of fate. And then, there's the poetry. I need to just like print that out somewhere, and just like admire it, because it is DIVINE.

I love the fact that the painting reappears. It just connects everything together, along with the visit to the chosen location. Probably my favourite scene in the amazingness that this is. And then there's the "fin" screen. God. Yep I'm in love.

I cried okay. I cried like a baby and I enjoyed it. 😭💖 The cozy vibes are unmatched. The whole thing is super cohesive, down to the GUI/music/VA. Max did an incredible job voicing this, the sprite is, to put it mildly, hot af.
I fell in love with Van a million times over. If there were more of it, I'd go and fall in love with him some more, whatever version of him crops up next.
Honestly after otomejam, this was just what my squished little heart needed. I feel rested and renewed and ready to take over the world all over again!

I'm glad you decided to make the ending to be that way (shouldn't give out hard spoilers so everyone please play this through!). The plot is sweet although there's another moment too, it's understandable (and made overall seemed more heart-clenching). I have to say Van's design is so nice, he's really handsome and (his tattoos are) attractive! The music is also great!

the other two cgs are simply variations of the final cg and is dependent on the choices you make for where you want to go in the first life. if you’d like to play through again, feel free to change up some of your choices in the first life to see how they might affect some small details of your final reunion but in terms of content, you aren’t missing anything :)
THE WAY THERE WAS SOME SORT OF HIDDEN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE WHERE THEY MEET AT THEIR OFFICE JOBS WITH THE FATED SOULMATES/ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROP, IN THE STRING ON THE TITLE PAGE, WHEN IT TURNS RED WAS SO CLEVER AND SUCH A NICE SURPRISE!!!! This game was unbelievably sweet! The atmosphere was absolutely perfectly done! The gui was so cute and soft feeling, the music was stunning and the sprites were really adorable! Especially the voice acting, the whisper-y voice the actor used made every scene feel more intimate in a way. The the flashbacks were a nice touch to confirm the players interpretations! The poem was really good too, I loved the beautiful word choice and the desperation in the last parts, it was great! Plus I'm a sucker for a soulmate trope and this whole game was just really really cute! Loved it!

What a fantastic, delicate, lovely twining rope of a story! From the heart-rending start, where I could sense the pain of the two lovers being separated, to the tender and delicate ending, where they finally find a way to reconcile... this whole game gave me a sense of tender nostalgia, loss, and then longing. Van was such a lovely character and it was so wonderful seeing him speak of his art and how he used it to reconcile his feelings of loss. Amazing work!
By the way, I JUST DISCOVERED that after you play the "main route" by going to start... you can unlock a verrrry nice "secret" by going to the red string on the main menu. And for those of you who want to see a more detailed review...
SPOILERS UP AHEAD, DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE SECRET FOR YOURSELF FIRST!!!
(You can actually unlock a whole new scenario/life where MC and Van became colleagues because Van was never able to follow his dream to be a photographer... so they are colleagues who have a VERY tense (and tension-filled...) relationship with one another. It's absolutely fascinating to see how they interact with and still manage to (depending on your choices) love each other in this lifetime also... and I'm so happy they finally got to KISS. Yessss, get Van, MC! In this life, you get him GOOD!)
Anyway, loved the game, loved its secrets, loved it all. Such a lovely delight of a game!

Simply BEAUTIFUL. This is such a sweet and romantic story, everything felt so magical!!
I loved the way everything connected together, not just story-wise, but also in other aspects! How the UI represented both the red string of fate and the synesthesia from both the MC and Van; how the music flowed so well with the vibe and even had certain parts where Van would talk; how the art felt so pretty, soft and deep in its simplicity; how well the voice actor fitted Van's character... and of course, the undeniable chemistry between Van and the MC!!
I really loved how they met in each timeline, but I have to say I have a soft spot for the "red strings" story in particular. I'm a big sucker for romance where the couple start sort of hating each other but then they fall super deeply in love AAAHH kdjgbjksdbg, so good!!
Also, can I just say... the whole string of fate in the UI and programming was awesome?? I never experienced anything like that in a visual novel, it was really unique and clever!! A pleasant surprise and, as a gamedev myself, makes me curious and excited to see if I can do something creative with my game menus someday too!
The story really gave me a lot of feels, I couldn't help but love it as the hopeless romantic that I am, thank you for creating such a beautiful game!! <3

Oh my goodness, I am just way in love with this, and with Van. I am so upset I have no more to play/read/experience. He’s wonderful, and this is just so weirdly comforting, despite being also oddly sad - it’s weird.. it’s like a self-fulfilling prophesy. You feel it right along with the game, and it’s just a beautiful thing.

I basically said everything on tumblr but I'm going to write here too. I'm honestly so in love with this game, it hit me in the feels so fast and hard I cried a little during it. I can straight up feel the love and work that went into this game and it makes me feel so warm and cozy in some way? During the game I had such a strong feeling of comfort from Van and I'm sort of just sitting here going "I'm so gay" over and over again but back to the comfort feeling. I don't know how but Van gives such a sense of comfort but also a sense of nostalgia in some way I can't explain. I'm basically rambling but holy I'm so in love I can't word it normally.
I'm honestly just, very comforted in a way by the game. The art is so beautiful, the writing and editing is so well done and Van just gives such a sense of comfort I can't explain it at all but if there was someone I needed in life it's Van please I'm so gay and in love.
I can just feel the love behind the game and it makes me so happy. <3 This was very ramble-y but I just gave my thoughts unfiltered. In short, the comfort and love behind the game makes me so warm and cozy and I would very much ramble to my friends about this game for hours.

hi! i might consider making a web version of the game since a couple people have been sad they aren't able to play intertwine in its current build. i dont' want to promise anything right now, mainly because i do have other priorities outside of intertwine (and this was initially meant to be a "one and done" kinda deal due to otojam) but i can look into it!
the web version build may not be optimized the same way the downloadable version is, but it would at least be a way to play the game in some form if thats okay <3

gorgeous gorgeous game polished to the nines.
art is so freaking pretty, the GUI is really pretty and very well thought out; the text system is to die for, sfx are beautifully combined with clever code bits and images popping up, and the story is just so incredibly sweet.
the writing is (as always tbh) really solid and consistent. i love tropes done well and this was exactly that :) And Max's voice is to die for. what a fantastic casting for Van!!

ahhh this is so beautiful!! van is such a sweetheart, the voice actor and (obviously) writers did such a great job making him! i LOVE soulmates so much, and i love how this game actually explores it! so many games are just "ooh look this guy is your soulmate :)" and leave it at that, but this has us go through different lifetimes, and i'm so glad. the synesthesia aspect is so smart, i could've never thought of that in a million years! and its such a sweet sentiment, i mean a lingering hand in yours? beautiful!! and GOD the music is so beautiful, orpheo and kija do it yet again! thank you to everyone on the team for making this lovely game <3

I don't usually post comments on here but I really liked this game so i thought I could give it a shot-. It was absolutely what I needed to play today haha I got invested in it quickly, the artstyle for the sprites was absolutely beautiful and the writing was immaculate as well. This game feels like sitting down in your beloved armchair after a long day and finally drinking your favourite tea- really comforting I mean lol. The only regret I have is that it's not longer! Loved Van's character and enjoyed his and MC's banter in that 'enemies to lovers' trope (can't deny that it's my favourite). Anyways great job on this one! It'll stay on my mind for a while for sure-

THIS WAS BEAUTIFUL. I adore Alaris, and the moment I saw the devlog, I was literally ecstatic . I loved the detailing of the red string of fate bringing the MC and Van through the next few lives, and how we get to see mentioning of themselves later. The music, CGIs, voice acting, and the AESTHETIC, oh my gosh. The entire game had me kicking my feet and grinning. The way that the lives flowed into one another, and the little quotes and proverbs between them were gorgeous. Like, seriously, the timelessness and mild sorrow was just *chefs kiss* perfect. I've always had it down bad for the soulmate trope and loved the idea of the red strings of fate. And then, there's the poetry. I need to just like print that out somewhere, and just like admire it, because it is DIVINE.

I love the fact that the painting reappears. It just connects everything together, along with the visit to the chosen location. Probably my favourite scene in the amazingness that this is. I cried okay. I cried like a baby and I enjoyed it. 😭💖 The cozy vibes are unmatched. The whole thing is super cohesive, down to the GUI/music/VA. Max did an incredible job voicing this, the sprite is, to put it mildly, hot af.
I fell in love with Van a million times over. If there were more of it, I'd go and fall in love with him some more, whatever version of him crops up next.
Honestly after otomejam, this was just what my squished little heart needed. I feel rested and renewed and ready to take over the world all over again!

I'm glad you decided to make the ending to be that way (shouldn't give out hard spoilers so everyone please play this through!). The plot is sweet although there's another moment too, it's understandable (and made overall seemed more heart-clenching). I have to say Van's design is so nice, he's really handsome and (his tattoos are) attractive! The music is also great!

thank you for this beautiful experience, it really touched me, and I would be lying if I said I didn't have tears in my eyes at the fin screen. I have only got 4/6 cgs though, and can't seem to figure out how to get the last 2.

the other two cgs are simply variations of the final cg and is dependent on the choices you make for where you want to go in the first life. if you’d like to play through again, feel free to change up some of your choices in the first life to see how they might affect some small details of your final reunion but in terms of content, you aren’t missing anything :)

THE WAY THERE WAS SOME SORT OF HIDDEN ALTERNATE UNIVERSE WHERE THEY MEET AT THEIR OFFICE JOBS WITH THE FATED SOULMATES/ENEMIES TO LOVERS TROP, IN THE STRING ON THE TITLE PAGE, WHEN IT TURNS RED WAS SO CLEVER AND SUCH A NICE SURPRISE!!!! This game was unbelievably sweet! The atmosphere was absolutely perfectly done!
The gui was so cute and soft feeling, the music was stunning and the sprites were really adorable! Especially the voice acting, the whisper-y voice the actor used made every scene feel more intimate in a way. The the flashbacks were a nice touch to confirm the players interpretations! The poem was really good too, I loved the beautiful word choice and the desperation in the last parts, it was great!
Plus I'm a sucker for a soulmate trope and this whole game was just really really cute! Loved it!

What a fantastic, delicate, lovely twining rope of a story! From the heart-rending start, where I could sense the pain of the two lovers being separated, to the tender and delicate ending, where they finally find a way to reconcile... this whole game gave me a sense of tender nostalgia, loss, and then longing. Van was such a lovely character and it was so wonderful seeing him speak of his art and how he used it to reconcile his feelings of loss. Amazing work!
By the way, I JUST DISCOVERED that after you play the "main route" by going to start... you can unlock a verrrry nice "secret" by going to the red string on the main menu. And for those of you who want to see a more detailed review...
SPOILERS UP AHEAD, DON'T READ IF YOU WANT TO EXPERIENCE THE SECRET FOR YOURSELF FIRST!!!
(You can actually unlock a whole new scenario/life where MC and Van became colleagues because Van was never able to follow his dream to be a photographer... so they are colleagues who have a VERY tense (and tension-filled...) relationship with one another. It's absolutely fascinating to see how they interact with and still manage to (depending on your choices) love each other in this lifetime also... and I'm so happy they finally got to KISS. Yessss, get Van, MC! In this life, you get him GOOD!)Anyway, loved the game, loved its secrets, loved it all. Such a lovely delight of a game!

Simply BEAUTIFUL. This is such a sweet and romantic story, everything felt so magical!!
I loved the way everything connected together, not just story-wise, but also in other aspects! How the UI represented both the red string of fate and the synesthesia from both the MC and Van; how the music flowed so well with the vibe and even had certain parts where Van would talk; how the art felt so pretty, soft and deep in its simplicity; how well the voice actor fitted Van's character... and of course, the undeniable chemistry between Van and the MC!!
I really loved how they met in each timeline, but I have to say I have a soft spot for the "red strings" story in particular. I'm a big sucker for romance where the couple start sort of hating each other but then they fall super deeply in love AAAHH kdjgbjksdbg, so good!!
Also, can I just say... the whole string of fate in the UI and programming was awesome?? I never experienced anything like that in a visual novel, it was really unique and clever!! A pleasant surprise and, as a gamedev myself, makes me curious and excited to see if I can do something creative with my game menus someday too!
The story really gave me a lot of feels, I couldn't help but love it as the hopeless romantic that I am, thank you for creating such a beautiful game!! <3

Oh my goodness, I am just way in love with this, and with Van. I am so upset I have no more to play/read/experience. He’s wonderful, and this is just so weirdly comforting, despite being also oddly sad - it’s weird.. it’s like a self-fulfilling prophesy. You feel it right along with the game, and it’s just a beautiful thing.

I basically said everything on tumblr but I'm going to write here too. I'm honestly so in love with this game, it hit me in the feels so fast and hard I cried a little during it. I can straight up feel the love and work that went into this game and it makes me feel so warm and cozy in some way? During the game I had such a strong feeling of comfort from Van and I'm sort of just sitting here going "I'm so gay" over and over again but back to the comfort feeling. I don't know how but Van gives such a sense of comfort but also a sense of nostalgia in some way I can't explain. I'm basically rambling but holy I'm so in love I can't word it normally.
I'm honestly just, very comforted in a way by the game. The art is so beautiful, the writing and editing is so well done and Van just gives such a sense of comfort I can't explain it at all but if there was someone I needed in life it's Van please I'm so gay and in love.
